Every so often, a project comes along that feels perfectly balanced – contemporary design rooted in its landscape, architecture that is both striking and adaptable. For Rodgers & Browne, we were asked to assist in marketing a unique one-off barn-style detached home on Quarterlands Road in Drumbeg, creating the CGIs that would bring the architect’s vision to life.
Designed by Formative Architects, the property is defined by a sensitivity to site and setting. The barn form sits confidently in its plot, with Thermowood timber cladding and Donegal slate natural stone creating a distinctive yet timeless exterior. Inside, flexibility is at the heart of the plan: the layout offers either four bedrooms with an open-plan kitchen, living and dining space anchored by a dramatic glazed wall, or an alternative configuration of three bedrooms and two reception rooms.
Volume and light are key features. Four rooms are designed with vaulted ceilings, adding height and character while framing views outward. It’s a house that adapts to the individual – contemporary in style, but versatile enough to suit changing needs.
Location completes the picture. Positioned in Drumbeg, the home enjoys the feel of a retreat yet sits within easy reach of both Belfast and Lisburn, blending rural calm with urban connection.
For us, projects like this underscore the power of thoughtful design and sensitive marketing: architecture that speaks for itself, supported by imagery and storytelling that ensures it reaches the right audience.
